Galatians 2:20b says that “it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me”. I thoroughly enjoyed leading worship last night with an amazing team and to see the power of the Holy Spirit as he ministered in worship and word. During the time of ministry that followed new life was imparted upon folk. Paul says that when we are baptised in Christ we are clothed in him (Galatians 3:27) so that we might walk in “newness of life” (Romans 6:3-4). What most of us find difficult to comprehend though is the crucifixion with Christ (repentance); then the burial with Christ (baptism) and then the “being raised up with Christ” (to walk in newness of life). This newness of life means a turning from our old ways and turning toward Christ and his ways. My fervent prayer for the many of you who read these devotionals on a daily basis is that, if you have not gone through a time of repentance, baptism, and then being raised up with Christ, that you make every effort to do so. It will change your life-eternally! |
