How often do we try and second guess God? How often, even when God makes the answer perfectly clear to us, do we continue to seek re-confirmation? Matthew 28:20 says that he is “Emmanuel, “God with us”. So how do we get it wrong so often, knowing that he is with us, and, when the answer has both been given us already, and is staring us in the face, do we second-guess him? Hebrews 13:5 says that he “will never leave us nor forsake us”. With all this said though, sometimes, by our thoughts, words, and actions, we illustrate that we don’t really believe that to be true. He is with us forever. "Let a man go away or come back: God never leaves. He is always at hand and if he cannot get into your life, still he is never farther away than the door." So, perhaps you have been seeking the Lord's face for an answer on an issue. Be aware that he may very well have answered you or offered up his response already, but, because it might contradict the answer that you have assumed he would proffer, you continue to seek "confirmation" in the hope that he will change his mind. His ways are not our ways, his answers work together for our good, and, ultimately, the good of the Kingdom. Are you in this place? Has the Lord given you the direction, but you haven't taken heed of it because it differs with your plan? Think again; it's your choice to either make a decision according to the will of man, or according to the will of God. |
